There are a VCR, CD player and a radio. There are puzzles and
games in the armoire and binoculars for bird watching. There is
no TV hook-up and no phone.
If you want to go beach walking, the easiest access is only a
half-mile walk. There is also a trail to a nice public beach just
behind the church.
Beach walking, birdwatching and walking through Lummi Island's
two nature preserves.
There are bikes and helmets in the garage. Feel free to use them.
Two or three weekends a year artists on the Island open their
studios for visitors, typically on Memorial Day Weekend and one
weekend in the Christmas season.
FESTIVAL & REEF NET FESTIVALS
The Lummi Island Lavendar Festival is the second week-end in July
and the Reefnetter Festival (celebrating a unique way of harvesting
the local salmon) is typically the third weekend in August. Both
feature crafts, music and great food!
Enjoy a day of culture and shopping in Vancouver, B.C., a city
with world-class culture. Or, try an adventure through local waters
in search of Orca whales, or a day of hiking in the Northern Cascade
mountains---each is an easy day trip ---and you will arrive back
at your "home port" on the island in time to marvel
at the drama of the northwest sun slowly disappearing behind the
silhouette of the magnificent San Juan Archipelago in the distance.
